This is a fun building activity that my son recently did at Clover Kids.  The program leader said the kids were building for over 30 minutes without showing any sign of boredom.  Looks like a great building craft to do with older children.

Play Pals is an indoor playground located in the Community Center Gym in Ames.  It has a slide, teeter-totter, mini basketball hoops, cycles, wagons, and other toys to keep the little ones entertained.

Who: Younger children.
How: Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver at all times.
Cost: $1 per child per vist.

Nothing says “summer” like ice cream! Your child will love building this Ice Cream Truck complete with stickers and paperboard cutouts! Each child will receive a free project kit, goggles, apron, project patch, and certification of merit.  These clinics are a great way for kids to gain confidence in their abilities.
Where: Lowe's 120 Airport Road, Ames, IA 50010 (The Build and Grow Clinics are available at most Lowe's stores.)

Who: Project is available to the first 50 kids to register and be at the store by 10am.

Every Family Rocks is a Family Music Festival in Des Moines on Sunday, May 27th.  Bands include The Nadas, The Verve Pipe, and Justin Roberts & The Not Ready for Naptime Players.  In addition to music, there will be activities, crafts, games, and food.

Mom's Time Book Club at the YMCA

The Boone County YMCA Book Club meets the first Friday of each month from 9am-11am. The book club meets in the activity center of the YMCA.  This is a great social event for book lovers or people who like to socialize and meet new people.

This book club is open to the public and is free to everyone.  Child care is provided and is free to YMCA members with an unlimited childwatch pass or is $2 per child for non-members.  Light drinks and snacks are provided.  Come have fun discussing ...
